Hi all,
Herewith the official invitation and entry form for the Spring Gatskop 2009, to be held at Pampoenfontein in Porterville on October 24 & 25, hot off the press.
There has been a tremendous amount of interest about the competition, and we expect both a large turnout and fierce competition. Without letting the cat out of the bag, it looks like there will be at least four clubs represented and a large contingent of pilots from Elsewherestad invading to try and wrestle the Boot from the mighty Overberg. The comp is being held a full month later than in the past, and we anticipate good weather and thermic conditions which while great for XC should still be reasonably mellow. The site is getting major attention at the moment and should have two netted launches and a preparation area ready by October. Junior or rusty pilots can rest assured that we will have lots of senior help on hand on the launch, which is student-friendly. Retrieve for both foofies and XC flights is included in the competition fee, so come on out to Porterville for a great fun weekend’s flying!
We’d particularly like to encourage pre-entries this year, as it makes the administration much easier for the club. You will get a cheaper rate on both the entry and site fees by pre-entering, and we’ve made the process quick and easy. Remember to get your accommodation organised ASAP as places in Porterville are filling up fast. Contact one of the club committee or email me for the list of accommodation in the town and surrounds.
